Jesús Rodrigo Lavilla Participates in the 5th Edition of the Executive Program on International Commercial Arbitration

On October 16, our CEO, Jesús Rodrigo Lavilla, had the honor of participating in the 5th edition of the Executive Program on International Commercial Arbitration, organized by the Spanish General Council of Lawyers, the Spanish Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the International Arbitration Court of Madrid.

This program, which ran from September 23 to October 16, 2024, included 18 sessions led by experts in international arbitration. Its main goal was to promote specialization and professional training in this field, positioning Spain as an attractive destination for arbitration.

During his presentation, Jesús discussed the topic of acquiring and financing arbitration disputes. This is an increasingly important approach in arbitration, allowing companies to manage the financial risk associated with litigation. Through this practice, a third party finances the costs of legal or arbitration proceedings in exchange for a return in the event of success.

Among the key points of his presentation, Jesús explained the need for this practice, highlighting the large volume of provisions required for complex litigation. He also emphasized the importance of understanding how to prepare a case to present to a litigation fund, as well as the key steps in the process of acquiring and financing arbitration disputes.

The program not only gave attendees the opportunity to learn about the benefits and challenges of litigation financing, but also provided a space for participants to exchange ideas and experiences in an interactive environment.

We are proud that Jesús is part of initiatives that contribute to professional development in the legal and arbitration fields. At PLA Litigation Funding, we remain committed to training and specializing professionals in key areas for business and legal success.
