On 29 May, Alipio Conde Herrero, Director of PLA Litigation Funding, was a speaker at a conference organised by Cuatrecasas, Angeco and Women in a Legal World. The conference focused on the impact of LO 1/2025 from the perspectives of the creditor-debtor relationship and the purchase and sale of credits. The session brought together legal and financial experts to reflect on the practical effects of this recent legislative reform.
During the roundtable, the implications of this law for the litigation finance industry and the management of litigation portfolios were analysed, highlighting the growing role of specialised players such as litigation finance funds.

On 2 June, the ICADE-Cuatrecasas Foreign Investment Observatory organised a conference on the financing and underwriting of third-party litigation. This conference, which brought together leading professionals from the sector, focused on third-party financing and underwriting strategies as a means of managing legal risks generating profit from contingent assets.
In his speech, our Director, explained the fundamentals of financing complex litigation and arbitration between companies, highlighting the importance of a rigorous analysis of legal, economic and procedural feasibility in order to structure effective investments. He also shared practical insights into how funds can add value for companies and maximise returns in uncertain scenarios, particularly in an industry that is still consolidating.
