PLA Litigation Funding is very pleased to have joined The European Litigation Funding Association (ELFA), being the first Spanish funder to do so.
Our CEO, Jesús Rodrigo Lavilla, expressed the importance the decision to join ELFA: “The establishment of an association such as ELFA shows the commitment and willingness of actors in the litigation funding industry to promote best practices, expand public knowledge, and represent and protect the interests of the stakeholders. PLA is committed to promoting the highest standards and best practices for the litigation funding industry and helping to develop the legal and regulatory framework in Europe. To this end, it is essential that litigation funders based in Europe play an active role and can be heard through the right platform, as is ELFA”.
Deminor Partner and ELFA Board Member, Charles Demoulin, welcomed PLA and explained the importance of gaining new members from Spain: “We have witnessed a rapid evolution of the Spanish market within the last 12 months as Law Firms and Companies increasingly turn to litigation funding as a flexible and strategic tool to finance their legal claims.
